Coverage of Mayor Mamdani's democratic socialist policies skewed consistently rightward across all outlets sampled, with a relatively narrow spread of roughly 1.5 points separating the most measured from the most charged framing. At the less strident end, *Reason* used accusatory but direct language — "Hides the Truth About Democratic Socialism" — framing Mamdani as concealing facts about his ideology. Moving further right, *National Review* adopted a mocking, dismissive register with "Not So Super Markets," ridiculing his grocery policy through wordplay rather than argument. At the most charged end, *Fox News* deployed stacked adversarial language — "blistering economic critique" and "blast socialist policy" — amplifying opposition voices and embedding right-coded terminology. *The Free Press* contributed two distinct lines of attack: personalizing a tax grievance ("My Mom") to cast Mamdani as hypocritical, and framing him as a potential legal defendant over foreign-policy statements. No outlet in this sample offered neutral or left-leaning framing.
