Both frame Trump as weakened. The Federalist, occupying the far right of this spread, pivoted away from approval ratings almost entirely, instead foregrounding a different poll finding about Democratic attitudes toward Trump — using the inflammatory label "Death Wish Dems" and the phrase "want Trump dead or taken out by military coup." This reframes the story from one about presidential unpopularity into one about perceived threats against Trump, casting Democrats as violent extremists rather than addressing the polling trend that prompted coverage.
