Al Jazeera's headlines anchor the left end of the spectrum, centering migrant vulnerability: phrases like "migrant children protest" and "police fire tear gas at migrants" cast law enforcement as aggressors and migrants — particularly children — as victims reacting to displacement. The choice to foreground "children" and "tear gas" directs reader sympathy toward those being removed. Breitbart, occupying the far right, sidesteps the migrants' experience almost entirely, instead amplifying a local residents' quote — "It's Not Immigration, It's an Invasion" — and framing Ceuta inhabitants as the aggrieved party staging a "Protest Sit-In." The word "invasion" recontextualizes the arrival as a security threat rather than a humanitarian situation. The result is two audiences receiving functionally different stories: one about police force used against vulnerable people, the other about residents resisting an encroachment on their community.
