Moving rightward, the Washington Examiner humanized a Republican senator's questioning by foregrounding a basketball-team mix-up, then amplified Senator Kennedy's visceral quote — "you make me want to throw up in my mouth" — positioning him as a righteous challenger. The Federalist pushed further still, using the charged verb "Seized" to cast Smith as predatory toward Trump donors, before reaching its most extreme framing with "Spied On And Targeted The Federalist During Biden's Anti-Trump Witch Hunt" — language that frames the entire prosecution as politically motivated surveillance.
